AAS Names First 2017 Winners
All-America Selections (AAS) has announced the first five AAS Winners for the 2017 garden season.
Each of the following award-winning varieties was trialed in North America by professional, independent judges during one growing season. Every AAS entry is trialed next to one or two comparison varieties that are considered best-in- class among those currently on the market.
This first group of AAS Winners for 2017 includes:
Celosia Asian Garden (National Winner) — Bred by Murakami Seed Co., Ltd.
Okra Candle Fire F1 (National Winner) — Bred by Known-You Seed Co. Ltd
Pea Patio Pride (Regional Winner) — Bred by Terra Organics
Squash Honeybaby F1 (Regional Winner) — Bred by Seeds By Design
Watermelon Mini Love F1 (National Winner) — Bred by HM. Clause
These varieties are now available for immediate sale to commercial and home garden markets. Retailers and consumers will find these AAS Winners for sale for the 2017 gardening season as supply becomes available throughout the chain of distribution.

AAS has also released the 2015-2016 Annual Report reflecting the group’s activities from the past 12-18 months. For six years now, AAS has prepared a yearly statement of organizational updates including those of sister organization National Garden Bureau.
