Tesco Plc. Plans Expansion
The United Kingdom’s largest retailer, Tesco Plc., said it plans to open a new Fresh & Easy store in the United States every 2 1/2 days (about three per week). Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market currently employs about 150 employees at its headquarters in California and expects to hire 2,500 more employees once stores begin opening.
Tesco also said it had purchased Dobbies Garden Centres – a 21-store garden center chain in the United Kingdom.

Aquascape Builds Pond For NASCAR’s Richard Petty
Bruce Berry, Aquascape, Inc., and several Certified Aquascape Contractors (CAC) worked together to build a pond for NASCAR legend Richard Petty at his home in North Carolina on May 2, 2007. Berry met Petty’s operations manager, Johnny Cline, at a home show and a week later was on Petty’s schedule for a design consultation.
The group installed a 13×20-ft. pond with a 17-ft. stream and waterfall with a negative edge and 7×9-ft. lower bog. Berry incorporated some large boulders from the Petty farm into the design along with 25 tons of stone and gravel from Greystone in Sequatchie, Tenn.
