Magnet Works Launches New Website

Magnet Works recently unveiled a newly designed website, www.magnetworks.com, to help retailers manage their relationship with the company online, including around-the-clock ordering, order status and inventory worksheets.

The new website also includes a visual database of the company’s entire catalog of products, cross-referenced by category, season, theme or holiday. The database contains product details, full-color product images and a list of suggested coordinating items.

“We polled our retailers on what they’d like to see, incorporated their ideas and suggestions and are excited with the results,” said Sue Todd, president and art director of Magnet Works. “We’re confident that visitors will find the new webiste an attractive, convenient and efficient way to shop outdoor décor.”

Founded 19 years ago, St. Louis–based Magnet Works now produces more than 800 styles of decorative products for indoor and outdoor use. For more information, call (800) 886-3121 or visit www.magnetworks.com.

Moss Takes Award for Visual Merchandising

It’s not a new concept to use moss to enhance visual displays, but why not make it the focal point of a project? Apparently green moss is visually pleasing to the eyes of judges, considering the results at this year’s Farwest Show. TropiCare of Oregon’s booth was awarded “Best of Division” for its creative design using MossCloth as a theme throughout the 10×10-foot booth. “It was a pleasant surprise to win this award out of so many exhibitors,” said General Manager Nate Travers.

“It was quite simple, really,” says Bob Travers, owner of TropiCare of Oregon. “We planned and built the booth in two days. It has everything to do with the use of moss, and the attraction of texture and color.”

Since 1984, TropiCare’s MossCloth has been used in Macy’s “Yellow Brick Road,” the Missouri Botanical Dinosaur Exhibit, numerous Las Vegas hotels and many other accounts the world over.
