Chalet Introduces Branded Home-Grown PlantsSource: Chalet Farms

Chalet in Wilmette, Ill., recently announced the launch of the Chalet Farms brand of home-grown trees, shrubs, perennials and vegetables, as well as a line of landscaping products designed especially for Midwest soils and climate.

Chalet Farms plants are grown longer to develop stronger root systems, which results in bigger, healthier and longer-lasting plants. Chalet’s Expert Selection line, which includes grass seed, fertilizers and organic potting soil, mulch and compost, offers complete landscape solutions.

“Chalet’s Expert Selection products have been formulated especially and exclusively for Chalet because other products on the market do not address all the specific needs of our Midwestern soils and climate,” said Tony Fulmer, retail manager.

Chalet Farms, a 183-acre growing nursery in Salem, Wis., is committed to the care of the earth The Farms’ soils are organically enriched with years of nitrogen fixing plantings and fed by natural lakes and ponds. Home-grown plants are delivered to the Chalet retail store in Wilmette, Ill., and to landscape customer homes in Illinois Certified Green Fleet trucks. The Farm recycles 95 percent of the plastics and corrugated materials used in production.

The home-grown plants are used in Chalet’s new “Plant of the Week” program, which provides homeowners with an affordable way to build their gardens. A different tried-and-true variety is offered at the store each week at a 20 percent discount.
