Colonial Candle is opening its first retail and consumer research boutique in Charleston, S.C. The 3,000 square foot flagship store is the 103-year-old candle company’s first and only boutique uniquely designed as a combination retail and innovative consumer research destination where guests will influence the direction of future fragrances and products. Located in Charleston’s most exclusive shopping location, The Shops at Charleston Place, the Colonial Candle boutique joins an exclusive collection of world-renowned luxury brands including Godiva, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Lacoste. Charleston is also home to Colonial Candle parent company MVP Group International.

Scheduled to open in early fall 2012, the Colonial Candle flagship store features a fresh, futuristic space where fragrance and consumer research take center stage. Customers will have the opportunity to join the creative process, experiencing new fragrances in originally designed fragrance rooms. Their impressions will influence the direction of current and future fragrances and products, helping to ensure the success of new fragrances and formats for retailers who carry Colonial Candle products across the country.

“Direct consumer testing and feedback are critical to developing the best, most successful new fragrances and formats, and our retail customers will benefit from this research by

receiving new items that are proven to sell before they hit stores,” says Beth Sturm, Colonial Candle Director of Brand Development.

Guests will also be able to collaborate with on-site event planners to choose fragrance themes and products for weddings and special occasions, just as they would select flowers or colors to define a special day.
