Set in an old gas station dating back to 1936, Dallas nursery Repotted has plans to close by the end of the month; Brumley Gardens will take over the location, reports Sarah Blaskovich.

Due to slow summer sales, the business was behind on its rent and forced owners Jamie Laws and Elizabeth Cummings to make the difficult decision to close Repotted’s doors.

Here is the letter Jamie and Elizabeth emailed to their customers:

Friends and loyal customers,

With heavy heart we must announce we’re going to be closing the shop at the end of July. We attempted to find a new location, but our efforts didn’t pan out. Brumley Gardens will be moving in August 1st. Be on the look out for their opening date.

We have loved getting to know you all, loved getting to be a part of the community, and we have appreciated your support through droughts and freezes and all the rest.

Looking forward to seeing you all around the neighborhood. Now we might just have time to attend all the terrific garden and park related events we’ve been writing about the last two years.

We’re selling everything (aside from consignment items) at half off this weekend and then whatever is left will be 75% off next weekend. We’ll be closed aside from watering next week. If you’d like to buy anything and can’t make it this weekend or the next, give us a call.

Much love,
Elizabeth and Jamie
