Dümmen Orange Hosts First Potted Plant Palooza in Ohio

Previously held at Dümmen’s research and development facility in southern California, the event was moved to central Ohio to become more centrally accessible to the core of industry professionals throughout North America.

The Dümmen Orange team hosted industry brokers, growers, retailers and media representatives, along with local consumers. Sponsors of the event presented their newest product designs alongside the plant material on display.

In addition to a new location, the team at Dümmen Orange unveiled a new format with a focus on retail and consumer trends. This new format will serve the industry as a retail and consumer complement to grower-focused production trials common during late November and early December.

The event included:

  • Product displays
    • Poinsettias — New and top-selling varieties, innovative finishing options and retail positioning inspiration
    • Year-round potted crops — New and top-selling begonias, kalanchoes and pot mums, seasonal décor trends and retail positioning inspiration
  • Trend forecasting
    • Industry-exclusive trend forecasts developed for Autumn 2017 through Summer 2018 to inspire product programming, retail display and point-of-purchase selections
  • Educational sessions
    • 2017 Garden Trends, Clint Albin, Garden Media Group
    • Seasonal Décor Trends, Lindsay Pangborn, Dümmen Orange
    • New Poinsettias for 2017, Angela Mekjian, Dümmen Orange
    • New Potted Plants for 2017, Kate Santos, Dümmen Orange
