FPO Re-Launches Valentine’s Day CampaignSource: Flower Promotion Organization

Helping consumers have a great experience with the Valentine’s Day flowers they receive is the focus of this integrated national public relations campaign sponsored by the Flower Promotion Organization (FPO). Showing consumers quick and easy ways to properly care for flowers can go a long way to increase their enjoyment for a longer period of time.

A series of nationally distributed press releases to major and local newspapers, a Video News Release (VNR), a consumer Web site www.flowrmd.com, an (888) FlowrMD Hotline and customizable consumer care and handling tips sheets will help provide positive messages to consumers on how to maximize flower enjoyment. The press releases will include references to the positive results of the recent Harvard University Flower Wellness/Home Ecology research sponsored by the FPO/SAF Alliance.

Throughout February, consumers can call the (888) FlowrMD hotline or send an E-mail to the FlowrMD.com Web site to receive recorded care tips and Feb. 14-15, 2007, Bridget Behe, FPO’s resident flower doctor and a recognized horticulture guru, and her team of flower experts will answer questions live from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Central) on the hotline and Web site.

Bridget Behe hosts “Ask Bridget,” an on-line consumer Q&A exchange during the year on www.flowerpossibilities.com, another consumer site managed by the FPO. Behe is a professor of horticulture at Michigan State University, a Michigan certified florist and member of the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association as well as OFA-an association of floriculture professionals.
