GCS/MPC Will Open Registration
The Garden Center Symposium/Midwest Perennial Conference (GCS/MPC) has announced online registration for its 2014 event will open Oct. 15.
The Garden Center Symposium/Midwest Perennial Conference (GCS/MPC) has announced online registration for its 2014 event will open Oct. 15.
The event will be held Jan. 23-24 at the Country Springs Hotel and Conference Center in Waukesha, Wis., and it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the symposium.
The speaker lineup includes:
- Dr. Raymond Cloyd, Kansas State University, who will address the topics of natural and organic pesticides as well as effective pest management in landscapes.
- Dr. Charlie Hall, Texas A&M University, who will bring to the group his expertise on strategic management, market outlooks, cost accounting and financial analysis.
- Debbie Lonnee, planning and administration manager at Bailey Nurseries in Minneapolis, who will provide attendees with information on new varieties in both perennials and woody plants.
- Brian Minter, owner and operator of the destination garden center Minter Gardens, who will share his expertise on value added measures to increase business profitability.
- Dr. Leonard Perry, University of Vermont, who will be discussing plant suitability in the landscape based on his 20 plus years of Zone 4 hardiness trials.
