31-year-old Kelley Garden Center & Landscaping of Twin Falls, Idaho, will sell off 40 percent of its land to Webb Landscape and Garden Center.

After seeing five locally-owned nurseries shut down for good in the last decade, Richard Kelley, owner of 31-year-old Kelley Garden Center & Landscaping, has plans to sell 40 percent of his land (which includes his nursery) to Webb Landscape and Garden Center, reports Andrew Weeks of Times News.

However, Kelley will “retain the landscape, spray and orchard” divisions of his business, writes Weeks. Kelley told the reporter, “There’s nothing wrong with me physically. It’s just that I’m 70 years old and running four businesses. I need to downsize.” He added the surrounding big-box store competition also pressured him into this decision.

The sale of Kelley’s garden center will finalize at the end of the month.
