John is an internationally respected expert who has contributed to garden retail for more than 20 years in 15 countries. He works with garden centers and nurseries around the world, assisting with merchandising, staff and management training, customer flow, customer service and image.

In this IGC Spotlight Keynote from internationally acclaimed garden retail guru John Stanley looks at hot button secrets to success and many more:

  • It is critically important to have a consistent store brand and shopping experience. Your customers come to your garden center for the answers they need to be successful in the garden and the inspiration that will transform their living spaces.
  • What are people saying about your garden center online? Research shows 39 percent of recommendations generated about businesses online are from people who have never been to the business. “Word of click” marketing is as important, if not more, than word-of-mouth referrals.
  • Cash mobs. How do you get throngs of customers, cash in hand, to make your garden center their mob-shopping destination of the day?
