Sixteen of North America’s largest growers are being honored for their green efforts and environmentally conscious practices. The Million Bottle Club, organized by McConkey’s rEarth plastic water bottle recycling program, recognizes growers who have recycled more than 1 million plastic water bottles into plant containers.

“Simply by growing in rEarth, the Million Bottle Club honorees have recycled 117 million bottles combined, keeping those bottles out of our landfills, oceans and streets,” said Dave Edenfield, Business Development Manager for McConkey. “Choosing a 100% recycled, curbside-recyclable grow container made from water bottles is a positive impact on the environment that’s easy to make.”

A huge environmental concern, plastic bottles go into landfills and litter at the astonishing rate of 60 million every day. Since only 1 in 4 are recycled, these growers make a huge impact by using products like rEarth, which help the environment by diverting bottles away from landfills and re-forming them into curbside recyclable grower containers.
