Matterhorn Nursery recently closed its doors to the public and has plans for a close-out auction this month.

A sign posted in front of 34-acre Matterhorn Nursery says it all: “After thirty-one years, it is time for transition, Effective immediately, Matterhorn will cease retail operations.”

The sign notes, however, the nursery’s landscape consulting and maintenance services will continue, reports Alex Taylor.

Owners Matt and Ronnie horn originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2010 after a deal to sell 15 acres of unused land to the Town of Ramapo for $10 million fell through, adds Taylor.

The auction is April 29-30 on the grounds of the nursery. To read more about the closing, click here.
