N.J. Landscaper Served Cease-and-Desist Order

Residents complaining about operations at JR Custom Landscaping and Garden Center in Jackson, N.J., disrupting their lives has led to a cease-and-desist order.

Residents complaining about operations at JR Custom Landscaping and Garden Center in Jackson, N.J., disrupting their lives has led to a cease-and-desist order.

Municipal officials have ordered the business to end “any and all operations of sifters, shredders, tub grinders, excavators and any machinery used in the manufacture of topsoil or other materials,” as reported by the Tri-Town News.

This is not the first time similar complaints against JR Custom Landscaping and Garden Center have been raised at Township Council meetings. In 2011, the zoning board’s resolution prohibited the company from conducting recycling activities that lead to manufacturing.

The use of large vehicles is only allowed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., but residents say they do not stick to these rules. The cease-and-desist order is meant to address the use of some of this equipment.
