Pallet of Salt Falls on Employee at Big BoxSource: Ionia Sentinel-Standard

Bags of salt fell more than 20 feet from overhead shelving, injuring a female employee in the garden center area of a Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Central Michigan, reports The Ionia Sentinel-Standard.

According to local Fire Department authorities, an employee at the Ionia store was performing maintenance to one of the shelves and a pallet containing bags of salt fell from the shelves. “Luckily, somebody heard it happen that was close enough to get help around her quickly and by the time we got there, they had gotten her partially dug out of it,” an official said.

Officials add that the injured employee is conscious and alert.
