Private Garden Breaks Ground at Planterra ConservatorySource: Private Garden

Private Garden recently began construction on a new retail garden center concept in West Bloomfield, Mich.: the Planterra Conservatory, which will offer a stylish shopping experience in a botanical garden–like setting. Construction on this 22,000-square-foot structure is the result of several years of planning.

The structure features European hipped rooflines, curved steel trusses and gold leaf detailing, but the building’s aesthetics belie its multifunctionality: It will provide retail space, corporate offices, space for Planterra’s design/display departments and shipping/receiving facilities, all under one roof.

Retailing is the latest expansion within the horticulture industry for Planterra, a 35-year old company nationally known for its interior landscaping in serves office buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, hotels and casinos. And throughout its 25 years in business, Private Garden Greenhouse Systems has built more than 500 structures, both residential and commercial, throughout North America.
