Winner Announced For STEPABLES ContestSource: Under a Foot Plant Company

A point-of-purchase plant display contest for nationwide independent garden centers was created by Under a Foot Plant Company and its STEPABLES brand. The “Best in Sole” photo contest included the prize of a check for $2,500 for the winning garden center to give to its favorite local charity. Participating garden centers submitted digital images of their STEPABLES retail displays, using Good For Your Sole Point of Purchase materials and display gardens which featured STEPABLES varieties.

STEPABLES and Under a Foot Plant Co. were the recipient of our sister magazine, GPN’s, 2007 Creative Marketer of the Year Award.

“The contest is an exciting way for STEPABLES to help authorized garden centers support their local communities,” said Frances Hopkins, founder and president of Under a Foot Plant Co. “The winner will be chosen based on showcasing the most creative use of STEPABLES plant material and signage in an environment conducive to shopping, which is fun to look at and engaging for the customer’s imagination.”

The Andersons Inc. garden center and nursery, in Maumee, Ohio, created the winning display, chosen in early July. They chose to give the $2,500 donation to The Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity.
