Bird WatchingBy pmihalek

Christmas trees, rock salt, firewood and bird seed. For many of you, these products help keep the cash register drawer from freezing until spring. That said, I’m hoping you can help me with a birding feature I’m working on. I would love to see your birding department.

If you have great signage or a clever arrangement of products, I want to see it. And I want to feature it in an upcoming issue of Lawn & Garden Retailer. So in between sales, grab your nearest camera or smartphone and send your best birding shots to me at [email protected].

Color of the Year

Orchid!

How do you like that? For 2014, Pantone thumbs “radiant orchid” as its color of the year. According to this Wall Street Journal report, the high-end fashion world has fully embraced this pick and is already seeing plenty of use and a popular demand for the color.

Do you have plans to promote this Pantone pick?

Leaving L.A.

I can’t believe my first trip to Los Angeles is already a month old. Good thing I have the photos to help me remember it. Check out my last photo gallery of the trip on Lawn & Garden Retailer’s Facebook page. And if you haven’t “liked” us yet, there’s no better time than now.

Enthusiastically,

Pete
