Homeward BoundBy pmihalek

Flying home to Cleveland for an extended Memorial Day weekend promised three things: cooler temps (compared to Phoenix), an extra 10 pounds to my midsection AND a tour of some of the midwest’s most colorful garden centers.

And conveniently enough, all four garden centers I visited could be found on one road — Ohio State Route 306 — which makes up the Retail Road Trip at this year’s Cultivate’14 by AmericanHort. I posted a few highlights from my quick tour on the Lawn & Garden Retailer Facebook page. And if you haven’t already, we’d love it if you’d “like” our page to keep you up on great merchandising ideas and more IGC tour photo galleries.

Let’s Make a Deal

You enter this year’s Merchandiser of the Year contest and we’ll make sure it’ll be well worth it —if you win. Because it is!

This year’s winner will receive three great, sales-generating prizes totaling over $3,000 provided by the contest’s sponsors Braun Horticulture, Dramm and MasterTag. Click here to check them out and learn how easy it is to participate.

Also …

Don’t forget, the deadline to apply for the Goldsmith Seeds Floriculture Business Advancement Scholarship and the Glenn Goldsmith Breeding Excellence Scholarship is next Wednesday (June 4). Click here to learn more about these $7,500 scholarship for college students studying horticulture.

Enthusiastically,

Pete
