The WOW FactorBy Abby (Kleckler) McGarry

I recently got off the phone with Kyle Canoyer of Canoyer Garden Center, located in Nebraska and Iowa.

We had a great conversation about creating the WOW factor. His comment: “If people come in and see product that they’ve seen everywhere else, even the best display won’t impress.”

What great words of advice heading into buying season!

I’ll be at AmericasMart in Atlanta later this week. Let me know if I’ll see you there. Maybe we can grab a cup of coffee or try to hunt down the King of Pops guys L&GR talked to last year. It’s never too cold for a popsicle, right?

Have You Seen It?

The January issue of Lawn & Garden Retailer has likely arrived in your mailbox. Click here to find out how much your customers pay attention to brands, improve edibles sales, hire the right people, start planning holiday 2016, see photos from North Carolina garden centers and discover your next WOW products.

Nine Days Left

That’s nine days to nominate someone for GPN’s 40 Under 40. Do you know someone who is doing awesome things, is in the industry and is under 40? Our sister publication wants to hear about them.

In May, GPN will once again recognize some of the industry’s up-and-coming rock stars. But don’t hesitate — you only have until Jan. 22.

Cheers,

Abby
