Companies Team Up To Build School’s Rain GardenSource: Easy Pro Pond Products

EasyPro Pond Products and Alta Falls & Pond Supply team up to help establish a rain garden at the Belize Holy Cross School. The rain garden system will allow the school to protect the surrounding environment from pollution, teach the children how to raise fish and save thousands of dollars per year by recycling water.

EasyPro Pond Products of Grant, Michigan, teamed up with Alta Falls & Pond Supply of Long Lake, Minnesota to help establish a rain garden at the Belize Holy Cross School. The 20 x 32 x 4 foot deep rain garden pond was built in July 2011.

The rain garden system will allow the school to protect the surrounding environment from pollution, teach the children how to raise fish and save thousands of dollars per year by recycling water. As the school population increases, the capacity of the system can be increased by adding more aeration to the existing structure. The school is only five years old and they hope to continue teaching projects like this.

Irv Geffre from Alta Falls commented; “At Alta Falls & Ponds we are so excited to see schools such as Holy Cross School to begin using Rain Garden Systems to protect their environment from pollution. Young people in countries such as Belize are making an impact. They give us a feeling of a much brighter future in other countries.”

“Its great to see more and more attention being paid to our environment, not only here in the U.S. but in other areas of the world as well. If we can convey this into the younger generations it will have a positive affect for many years to come”, commented Dave Ouwinga from EasyPro Pond Products.

The companies supplied Holy Cross with a 20′ wind driven aeration system, liner, floating island planters, water treatment and testing products, tubing and the various fittings needed to construct the project.
