Garden Communicators International Announces Media Awards Call for Entries
Entries are now being accepted for the 2022 Garden Communications International Media Awards. The organization has added three new award categories for garden communicators including social media, garden-themed fiction, and garden-focused children’s books.
The GardenComm Media Awards is the only national online media awards program for the gardening communications industry. For more than 20 years, GardenComm has recognized the top professional horticultural communicators in the areas of writing, publisher/producer, and trade.
This year’s program features more than 50 categories across seven disciplines. All works primarily focused on horticulture and gardening topics are eligible. All individuals, companies, and publishers may enter. GardenComm membership is not required to enter, but members do receive discounted entry fees. Multiple entries and early entries also receive additional discounts.
Category information and entry details can be found on the GardenComm website. Secure entry forms can be accessed here: https://gwa.secure-platform.
Awards will be given at two levels in each category: Silver Awards of Achievement and Gold Awards. Silver award winners go through a second round of judging to determine Gold Award winners. Silver Awards will be announced in August 2022. Gold Awards will be announced at the GardenComm Virtual Conference in October 2022. Only work published and copyrighted between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, is eligible for entry. A jury of professionals, selected for their experience, expertise, and genre perspective, will be assembled to evaluate all entries.
“Being recognized as a GardenComm award winner can elevate your status as a professional,” says Maria Zampini, GardenComm President. “We know it can translate into more writing jobs, more speaking engagements and increased career recognition. Make 2022 the year you add the words “award winner” to your biography!”
