Get Growing YouTube Series Offers Weekly Educational Videos
The Get Growing Series will feature many of the horticulture educators and gardening professionals who were set to present at the 2020 Flower & Garden Show each week on its YouTube channel. The series is a collaboration with the Chicago Flower & Garden Show, presented by 811 Chicago & Peoples Gas and The Get Growing Foundation.
The Get Growing Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 serving the Greater Chicagoland Community through outreach and education, experience based learning and horticultural job skills training and placement. Since 2017, with a particular focus on today’s youth, the foundation has used the creation of community gardens, special needs programming and in person instructional seminars to develop the public’s understanding of green living and how it can benefit our daily lives.
Now more than ever, the importance of teaching people how to grow their own food and providing a sense of accomplishment and sources of calm and psychological outlets can not be overstated, and we need your help to continue our efforts to spread that message.
