Nexus Breaks Ground on New Facility in Illinois
On March 6, Nexus Corp. broke ground for an addition to their greenhouse manufacturing facility in Pana, Ill. With the expanded space and addition of equipment, the company’s capacity in the facility will triple over the next two years. Nexus Corp’s CEO Cheryl Longtin and president Mike Porter, hosted a special groundbreaking ceremony and luncheon for local officials at the Pana plant.
The new facility will more than double the footprint of the existing building and will incorporate all of the latest in technological advances. Both steel and aluminum greenhouses are manufactured in the Pana plant. With the expanded space and addition of equipment, the company’s capacity in the facility will triple over the next two years.
The Pana plant supplies both the Nexus and National Greenhouse product line of greenhouses to customers in the Midwest and along the East Coast. The building is expected to be completed this summer.
“Our new facility is designed to maximize efficiency and enhance production. The new building will allow us to manufacture an even better product, Longtin said. “At Nexus we are never content with the quality of our product. We are always improving and looking for new ways to serve our customers. We are proud of our continuing commitment to provide the best in manufacturing, new product technology and the best customer service possible.” During the ceremony Porter thanked the community and local officials for their contributions to Nexus’ growth. “We are pleased to remain and grow in Pana. The City of Pana, the Pana Industrial Development Corporation and the Christian County Economic Development Corporation have worked diligently to assist us with our construction plans.”
Nexus Corporation began operation in 1967. The company is headquartered in Northglenn, Colorado. Nexus is an international manufacturer of commercial, institutional, residential, and retail greenhouses.
