Radio Garden Guru Nick Federoff to Broadcast Live on Trends at IGC Show

Gardening guru Nick Federoff, reportedly known for his award-winning syndicated radio show “Things Green,” heard on more than 100 radio stations across the country, will broadcast live from the IGC Show floor. He will report on the hottest trends making their way to local independent garden centers.

“Nick has always trumpeted local garden centers on his radio show as the place to go for knowledge and the best shopping selection and experience,” says Jeff Morey, IGC Show founder and CEO. “Now we’re honored that he’ll take that message to the next level by bringing his finds from the IGC Show floor to his listeners, who will, in turn, be that much more compelled to shop their local independent garden center, especially over the cookie-cutter boxes. It’s a nice boost for our IGC sector.”

In addition to his popular radio show, now 30 years in the running, Federoff is the host of “Things Green” on PBS, and was the resident on-air gardening expert for his hometown’s Los Angeles CBS affiliate, where he produced more than 350 television segments. An active member of GardenComm, formerly known as the Garden Writers Association, his print publication background includes serving as the garden writer for the Los Angeles Daily News and regular contributions to more than 25 area newspapers.

He has been featured in trade and consumer magazines, including Fortune. He is a lifetime honorary member of the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers and the International Society of Arboriculture, and is an inductee in the Green Industry Hall of Fame.
