Wild Bird Expo Plans Sessions

At the Wild Bird Expo on Sept. 28, 2016, David Horn, associate professor of biology at Millikin University, will release the results of a study that shows “Feeding Wild Birds Helps Their Health and Survival.”

Brenda Wright, show manager, commented, “The entire wild bird industry is excited to hear about this important study.”  Additional seminars will be held on business and birding topics by author Stan Tekiela, web communication and marketing experts and fellow store owners.

The expo is held in Mexico, Missouri, Sept. 27-29, 2016, and has grown an average of 30 percent yearly in attendance with retailers attending from 46 states, six Provinces of Canada and England.

Show Manager Wright commented on the growth, “Our surveys show the No. 1 reason are the seminars and share time events where retailers learn from each other.

“In addition, retailers have told us the fact that we provide (along with the assistance of our vendors): Free meals, lodging, refreshments, and transportation from the airport and around event sights, makes the trip worth their time.”  Wright continued, “This year approximately 130 wild bird and gift vendors will be participating with over 600 retailers attending.”
