Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (MANTS)
MANTS welcomed more than 10,000 attendees and exhibitors to a sold-out trade show from Jan. 8-10 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The sold-out show floor provided a peek at equipment, products, plant material and more.
Star Roses and Plants celebrated 25 years of Knock Out roses at MANTS and is offering special-edition 25th anniversary point-of-purchase materials for garden retailers this spring.De Vroomen Garden Products’ booth included its new Sesame Street Collection, a collaboration with Sesame Street designed to inspire the next generation of gardeners.Plant Development Sciences Inc. (PDSI) showcased the Autumn series of reblooming Encore Azaleas.Pottery Patch International’s booth was a pottery paradise with a huge display of hard goods.
Dallas Market
Dallas Total Home & Gift Market ran Jan. 8-14 at World Trade Center, and despite the unexpected snow in Dallas, the market was still bustling with attendees. According to Dallas Market Center, the January market was the largest debut of new products in home décor, gifts and more in permanent showrooms in three buildings, plus four neighborhoods of temporary booths. It also included new and expanded showrooms, seminars featuring experts and influencers, and networking opportunities.
Kobo Candles relaunched Plant the Box with new art at the January market. Each Plant the Box features a candle with a scent inspired by a plant, such as lavender or tomato. Further, customers can soak each candle box in water to grow the selected plant.Savannah Bee’s Blossom to Bottle box is made up of a “Book of Honey” that shares the story of how the honey is created, along with six bottles of the sweet condiment in a variety of flavors.Hazel Mazel, new to the Ivystone showroom, offers a variety of home décor and gifts that add extra whimsy and color to everyday life, including this teapot and mug tulip set.Rain Jewelry introduced a new line of earrings in various nature-themed colors and designs — including florals, birds and frogs — that are the perfect gift for the gardener.
Atlanta Market
Winter 2025 Atlanta Market presented more than 1,000 showrooms and 6,000 product lines from Jan. 14-20, with plenty to keep attendees busy and inspired. Speaking to wholesalers, there was resounding positivity around the market — with many saying it reminded them of pre-pandemic days. The Gardens — on AmericasMart’s Building 2, Floor 9 — reorganized for the summer 2024 edition of Atlanta Market, and its clean, bright and gridlike layout was in place for the winter market.
Achla Designs introduced the Vinifera Fence Sections, ideal for the gardener and wine connoisseur alike. Made of wrought iron and powder coated in black, each section holds five wine bottles.Esschert Design showcased a number of kids’ gardening products, including an apron and whimsical watering cans.Mud Pie launched its first-ever outdoor lanterns in its new Outdoor Entertaining line.Wind River updated its popular pink wind chime color to reflect a shift toward warmer, terra cotta-like hues.
Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE)
More than 400 exhibitors from around the world showcased their latest products and plants at the Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE), which took place Jan. 22-24 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nearly 7,000 attendees from all around the world attended sessions and perused the more than 400 exhibitor booths.
Monrovia’s chief marketing officer and trendspotter Katie Tamony said their consumer research is showing homeowners are increasingly interested in both more vibrant color and upright or vining plants for their patios.Agri-Starts showcased several edibles in a “Plants That Taste Good” display — including its vanilla ‘Sunshine State’, which received a Cool Product Award from The Garden Center Group.The Create Theater on the show floor offered several demonstrations, including a plant design demonstration by floral designer Terry Godfrey.Living walls were featured in several booths. Architectural Supplements (ASI) took theirs a step further by setting up a selfie spot on the show floor.
