Oopsy Daisy Garden Market: 2025 Innovator of the Year
What year was your garden center founded?
Oopsy Daisy Garden Market was founded in 2012.
What is your garden center known for?
Besides top quality plants and competitive pricing, we strive to create an experience for each and every one of our customers. We greet and welcome them in, offer cool drinks and invite them to leisurely enjoy our serene atmosphere and ask any questions they may have. We hear daily how relaxing and special our store makes them feel. Our tagline is “Plant some happy,” and while shoppers may think we mean the actual plants, we emphasize planting happy in their soul.
How do you set your store apart from the big boxes?
The first thing customers notice (and mention to us constantly) is the difference in the care for our plants — it clearly is our passion. We support and only purchase our products from mom-and-pop wholesalers/growers who invest the same care and compassion for their plants as we do, and we’ve nurtured our relationships with them since 2012.
Next, they remark on how organized, yet organic all of our designs and displays are and the overall vibe of our shop. The personality that is put into our store is something that can never be matched by a big-box or a corporate setting. Many come simply to get inspiration (whether interior design or from our garden) and enjoy the calm of being able to look around and take it all in.
How do you ensure teamwork among employees?
We have the dream team! Even though we run a very tight ship and expect a lot of different roles out of our employees, we all get along (and have actually become friends outside of work!) and work together towards the above mentioned goals.
How is your store involved in your local community?
We host workshops, which are a big hit. Twice a month, after hours during sunset, we set up on our beautiful patio and welcome registered guests to sip wine and learn to create a masterpiece they can take home. We also offer a storewide discount for that evening so they can shop privately, without the daily crowd, after the class and save some money.
But our very favorite involvement is with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation! We donate a percentage of every purchase all year to the very worthy cause.
