Danziger offers preview of its 2025 CAST display
A visit to Danziger’s California Spring Trials (CAST) display in Gilroy, California, offers a glimpse of the future of horticulture. Along with impressive beauty and color, new breeding work will showcase innovations for both growers and home gardeners.

Along with the 2026 genetics lineup, the display will also feature other Danziger favorites, like its award-winning lineup of stunning calibrachoa series, including ‘Lia Abstract Lemon Cherry’, a recent National Garden Bureau Green Thumb Award winner.
The display will also highlight the hybrid impatiens series Sol Luna Prime, a garden game-changer with blooms arriving up to seven days earlier, unmatched uniformity, and flexibility to perform in both sun and shade. Attendees will also be able to vote on their favorite new combination recipes in Danziger’s DurBella combination program.
Petunia ‘Capella Hello Sunshine’ has sparkling yellow blooms that can add a touch of sunshine in the garden. it is an early variety with loads of light-yellow flowers. The Capella series is available in 23 colors and offers excellent performance in propagation, blooming early enough for any program, and creating a tidy pot with minimal PGR use.
The Vanessa compact verbena series is a must-have for growers and home gardeners with proven mildew resistance, excellent adaptability to environmental changes and long-lasting bloom power. Verbena ‘Vanessa Compact Bicolor Marshmallow’, new for 2026, features bright white and pink blooms. This series stays compact with little to no PGRs needed.
Petunia ‘Cascadias Lavender Ice Petunia’ was a top pick at Danziger’s Michigan trials, and it’s quickly become a favorite. The plant produces large, attractive flowers with beautiful veins and a unique coloring, with a deep purple center surrounded by silvery lavender hues. This series features a semi-trailing habit suitable for premium basics and combinations.
The new osteospermum series Besties celebrates the diverse and vibrant relationships that enrich our lives. ‘Besties Dynamic Bicolor’ features blooms that range from orange, peach and lavender-pink. Each of the seven colors in this series were bred and selected for their consistent habit and bloom timing. They can be grown in a warm greenhouse along other spring annuals, offering more flexibility for growers.
Nemesia ‘Nesia Pink Crush’ is a new, unique bicolor that’s an early bloomer with flowers that last. From soft to vibrant, the shades of pink set against bright green leaves provide stunning contrast and visual appeal. The Nesia series also has more heat tolerance than other nemesia on the market. Add this compact pollinator favorite to your packs, pots and combo programs.
Two new vibrant colors join the Trinity diascia series, showcasing its excellent weather tolerance and staying power. This upright diascia series holds its large flowers longer, for enhanced shelf life at retail and more enjoyment in the garden. An excellent choice for larger containers and combinations, it is also loved by pollinators. There are four color options in the series, including the new for 2026 ‘Trinity Pink and ‘Trinity Salmon’.
