Monrovia makes nursery leadership changes
Monrovia has announced changes in leadership positions at its nurseries.
Brett Cromly is now the general manager of the Oregon nursery. He previously led the company’s Georgia location as general manager and will be bringing key learnings from his role there to Monrovia’s flagship nursery.
“In his nearly four years leading the Cairo, Georgia, operation, Brett elevated the quality of plants and data-driven production planning of that nursery. I’m excited to see him bring that experience to Oregon,” said president and CEO Jonathan Pedersen.
Brett began working for Monrovia in 2017, first as an inside sales representative. He was quickly promoted to regional sales manager at the Georgia nursery, and then he became general manager of the nursery in 2021.
Greg Rusow, the most recent general manager of the Oregon nursery, will be moving into a new role as vice president of production practices across all nurseries. During his long tenure with Monrovia, Rusow has previously served as general manager at all three Monrovia nurseries.
“He instills a culture of excellence in growing practices and understands the unique opportunities and challenges in every region,” Pedersen said. Although still based in Oregon, Greg will be traveling frequently to the other nurseries to advise on best practices in growing techniques.
Cromly’s move to Oregon has opened up the opportunity to bring back Scott Andrews, who is returning as general manager of the Georgia nursery. With nearly 14 years of experience at that location, Andrews has the needed process management skills to continue and build on its success. His methodical approach to production and deep leadership experience at the nursery will help him continue expanding the nursery’s plant selection to meet market demands.
Toni Bielli will be moving back to Monrovia’s California nursery as its new regional sales manager. She was previously an inside sales representative in the California region, and in recent years served as the nursery’s national senior account manager for its Lowe’s business.
“Toni’s knowledge and experience with our California nursery and its market runs deep. She is a strategic customer partner skilled at leading her teams to excellence,” said Ted McDonald, vice president of sales.
“Using the talents of our team to their full potential is critical to our success,” Pedersen said. “We are very excited about the opportunities these new roles create for our team and our future.”
