Terra Nova launches plectranthus Nova collection
Terra Nova Nurseries has released plectranthus ‘Nova Brilliant’, bred as an improved option over common Swedish ivy and select plectranthus predecessors for its more upright form and thicker foliage.
‘Nova Brilliant’ — the debut variety within Terra Nova’s new plectranthus Nova collection — has deep emerald-green centers framed by broad, vivid white margins. These dramatic color contrasts create dynamic visual interest in mixed baskets and containers, while also offering a standout focal point at the front of borders or as an accent plant. It thrives in partial to full shade and performs exceptionally well as a houseplant, prized for its ease of growth and naturally self-branching habit.
‘Nova Brilliant’ blooms September through October, growing to a height of 9 inches, width of 24 inches and flower height of 12 inches. Growers can expect the finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot to be four to six weeks; finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is 8 to 10 weeks. USDA Hardiness Zones are 9 to 11.
