What’s the Plan?By pmihalek

Just a couple weeks ago I was on the phone with retail expert Doug Fleener. What led me to reach out to Doug was his insightful (and constantly updated) blog, Retail Contrarian, and one particular post addressing the need to have a disaster plan. Read it here.

A disaster plan…do you have one? In light of recent tragedies — Boston Marathon bombings and the Oklahoma tornado — we’re witnesses to recurring reminders of how important it is to have a “just in case” plan in place for when things take an unexpected turn. From fires to storms to criminal activity, does your store follow any emergency protocol? And is your staff aware of it? Let me know.

Visit Doug’s blog when the time allows. You can also catch him in July at OFA Short Course.
