The entry: General merchandising.

In their own words: “To maximize space and inspire customers, Habersham Gardens created a series of combined merchandising displays that highlighted products spanning multiple inventory categories. Garden center staff spruced up the main entrance and various nooks with a diverse range of plants, how-to books, gardening tools, decorative containers, outdoor accessories, outdoor furniture and more. Each display can be adapted per season or to accent and add new products, and customers don’t have to look hard to find what they want.”

The entry: Life on the Vine Wine, a shop within Matterhorn’s European-style “Garden Center Village,” nested within the property’s 38 acres of gardens and ponds.

In their own words: “Since its opening, Life on the Vine has been one of our most popular spots. In 2008, we focused our promotions on private events. As we shifted merchandising to focus on private events, we transformed the rear of the shop to showcase a new furniture line. A unique tree outside the shop helped us promote our “new” shop: A natural indentation became an intriguing display. Customer feedback was immediate and positive! The new display units and furniture have been a huge success.
