Garden Center Symposium Opens Scholarship Applications

The 2016 Garden Center Symposium is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a student studying horticulture or a related subject at a two- or four-year institution in the Wisconsin/Illinois/Minnesota area.

The 2016 Garden Center Symposium is awarding a $1,000 unrestricted scholarship to a student studying horticulture or a related subject at a two- or four-year institution in the Wisconsin/Illinois/Minnesota area. The deadline for application is Dec. 1, 2015.

To be eligible the applicant should be majoring or minoring in horticulture or a field applicable to a green industry with preference given to those with an interest in a career in the garden center industry. The applicant should have at least one quarter or semester remaining following spring term 2016 and have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Garden Center Symposium has sponsored its educational event/trade show for over 50 years, attracting an audience from the tri-state area. The Jan. 20-21, 2016, event will be held at the Country Springs Hotel and Conference Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
