Plants At Work Changes NameSource: Plants At Work

The educational and promotional program formerly known as Plants At Work, now in its sixth year, is going forward with a new name, Green Plants for Green Buildings (GPFGB). The full board approved the vote on May 25 with the amendment that they get trademark clearance from the U.S. Green Building Council and the Green Build Initiative (USGBC). The group received written permission to use the name by the USGBC brand manager on July 13.

“We have reserved the domain name and are quickly moving forward with the development of the new, upgraded and updated program materials,” commented M.J. Gilhooley, the group’s media relations contractor. “If there is any way humanly possible, we want to have a big launch at OFA, at least as far as education about the new name goes.”

By constructing a communications bridge between the leading international horticultural research and the public, GPFGB will continue to educate people about the important health and well-being benefits of having plants in proximity to human life.
