Pleasant View Gardens Matriarch Passes Away

Eleanor J. (Rippe) Huntington, the matriarch of Pleasant View Gardens in Loudon, New Hampshire, died at home, on Oct. 17, 2017.

Eleanor was born in 1929 in Westport, Connecticut. After graduating from high school, she attended Grace New Haven School of Nursing.

Eleanor married Jon Huntington in Westport, Connecticut, in 1954.  The couple continued operating her father’s business, Rippe Farms, until 1976 when they decided to relocate to New Hampshire, where they purchased Pleasant View Gardens.

With the help of their two sons, Jeff and Henry, the Huntingtons grew the company into what eventually became one of the founding partner companies of Proven Winners.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 63 years along with her sons, Jeff and Henry, who continue to own and operate Pleasant View Gardens, and a daughter, Anne.

Three of her grandsons (the third generation of Huntingtons), Ben, Andy and Jonathan are also actively involved in the management of Pleasant View Gardens.

A funeral service will take place Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 177 North Main St., Concord, NH.

A memorial service at Green’s Farms Congregational Church, Westport, Connecticut and interment at Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield Conn. will follow at a later date.
