The New Product HuntBy Abby (Kleckler) McGarry

Cultivate’18 is in the books, which is hard to believe after months of planning. The event was a major success, from education sessions to the Retail Peer2Peer Workshop and much more. Today, I, however, want to share with you some of the products that caught the eye of retailers.

The Garden Center Group and AmericanHort jointly recognized 12 different companies and 15 different products after retailers walked around the show floor to find exciting launches.

One winner that caught my eye was the new barberry — two barberries actually — from SynRG that are sterile. ‘WorryFree Crimson Cutie’ and ‘WorryFree Lemon Glow’ will be available to retailers in 2019, and you won’t have to worry about them being invasive.

The new Amazel Basil from Proven Winners — which we first showed you on our trip to California Spring Trials — was also an award-winner. It is exciting as the first Italian sweet basil that’s resistant to powdery mildew, and it’s also one of Proven Winners first introductions in its Proven Harvest line of edibles.

On the décor side of things, Pride Garden Products’ new metal, wood and freestanding additions to its line of vertical planters gained recognition, while ceramic coffee mug planters — with drainage — from Very Cool Stuff also received an award.

This is just one-third of the winners. Click here to see the other 12 standouts — along with photos! Which ones might you want to add to your product lineup in the future? Send me a message and let me know.

Cheers,
Abby
