Danziger previews new varieties to be shown at CAST 2026
Danziger has released a preview of the new genetics it will have on display at California Spring Trials (CAST).
“Each and every variety in our lineup is ready for its closeup,” said Ori Danziger, deputy CEO. “This season is packed with vivid colors, striking patterns and a few new expansions on old favorites. Our breeding innovations are delivering a new level of beauty, resilience and adaptability with outstanding performance that growers and home gardeners will love.”
In addition to a first look at new breeding advancements, visitors to the Danziger display will see cutting-edge solutions, cultivation tips and insights to get the most out of each crop.
Here’s a look at the exceptional new selections for 2027.
Amazonas Petunias Line Expands
Three new colors join the Plum Cockatoo variety of Danziger’s award-winning Amazonas line, bringing a ruffled, rainforest feel to the garden. (Above, left to right) Midnight Finch, Pink Macaw and Violet Parakeet are unlike any other petunia, suitable for hanging baskets and patio pots.
Hybrid Impatiens ‘Sol Luna Orange Duet’
Danziger’s hybrid impatiens Sol Luna series is focused on brining outstanding uniformity, vigorous performance and head-turning colors to the market. New for 2027, ‘Sol Luna Orange Duet’ offers large, creamy orange and bright white bicolor blooms backed by deep dark foliage. A standout in the garden, Orange Duet both sun and shade performance.
New Besties Osteospermum Colors
The award-winning Besties osteospermum series has three new colors. ‘Besties Playful Bicolor Purple’ (above, left) features lavender and light pink blooms with purple centers. ‘Besties Vivid Violet’ brings energy to the garden or containers, while ‘Besties Brilliant Bronze’ (above, right) creates a cozy glow. The line has been trialed, tested and selected for matching flowering times.
Calibrachoa ‘Ombre Tyler Glam’
Danziger is going bigger and better in 2027 with its calibrachoa. ‘Ombre Tyler Glam’ features bigger flowers and bolder blooms in hues of red, orange and yellow. It glows with on-trend tropical color that creates eye-catching, color-changing mono baskets and adds a punch to combinations.
New Nemesia Nesia
Danziger’s Nesia series expands in cool, hot and glamorous colors. The multicolored blooms of (above, left to right) Nesia Arctic Blue, Hot Red and Gold are reportedly more heat tolerant than others on the market, so they look good longer in the garden center and in the garden. This top-performing collection blooms early with loads of flowers, creating irresistible 6-packs, quarts and combos.
New Durabella Combos
Danziger’s Durabella combinations program simplifies mixed container production without sacrificing stunning results. Each recipe brings together two or three carefully selected varieties that are bred and tested to perform well together, with matched growth rate, vigor and beauty. Every combination uses one liner per variety, helping reduce input costs, lowering water use and creating a lighter root ball to support better shelf life and long lasting quality.
