GCA Honors IGC Show FoundersSource: Garden Centers of America

Garden Centers of America recently awarded its Circle of Excellence Award to Jeff and Cheryl Morey for their work with the Independent Garden Center Show. The winner is selected by the GCA board of directors and recognizes a GCA-member company or individual that has performed above and beyond the call of duty supporting the industry and GCA.

“We could not be more pleased with our selection, as both Jeff and Cheryl embody the true essence of this award,” says GCA President Dave Williams. “Their devotion to the industry and specifically Garden Centers of America is unsurpassed.”

The Moreys founded the IGC Show in 2007. The show has evolved to showcase more than 1,000 independent-only vendor booths, an educational conference with 40 speakers, and more than 40 workshops and sessions. Education focuses on store management, international and consumer trends, selling plants and being independent.

The 2010 IGC Show will take place August 17 to 19 at Chicago’s Navy Pier. For more information, visit www.IGCshow.com. The July issue of Lawn & Garden Retailer contains an IGC Show product preview for more information on select participating vendors.
