AmericanHort schedules Plug & Cutting Conference for September

AmericanHort announced that the Plug & Cutting Conference will take place Sept. 23-25 in Orlando, Florida, at the Caribe Royale.

The biennial conference offers plug and cutting growers of all experience levels in-person and online educational programs, local greenhouse tours and a trade show. Attendees will learn best practices in various aspects of young plant production and explore innovative ideas to optimize their facilities’ productivity and profitability.

“Plug & Cutting is a comprehensive learning experience for growers who specialize in propagation and young plants,” said Ken Fisher, president and CEO of AmericanHort. “Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other producers to gain new perspectives and solutions.”

Plug & Cutting 2024 education features three learning tracks: best management practices, pests and diseases, and production inputs. New for 2024, two additional educational tracks will be available as on-demand webinars. The cost of general registration includes the pre-recorded sessions.

Attendees can visit Florida greenhouse operations on a production tour, available as an add-on for an additional fee. The tour stops include Agri-Starts and AG2TC, two whole tissue culture liners producers specializing in tropical, foliage and native plants; Costa Farms, one of the largest ornamental houseplant producers nationwide; and Knox Horticulture, a major wholesaler for theme parks and landscaping companies.

During the on-site trade show, attendees can learn about the newest technologies and equipment from companies showcasing products and services that meet the needs of plug and cutting producers and their operations. Access to the trade show is included with the cost of registration.

Registration is open for the conference, tour, and hotel accommodations. To learn more or register, visit americanhort.org/plug.
