Greenstreet Gardens recently announced it will add a second location to its business after its recent purchase of Applehouse Garden Center in Alexandria, VA, reports Jonathan Moynihan, Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch. Greenstreet’s original location is based in Lothian, MD.

“We’ve been looking in Virginia for a couple years,” Greenstreet Garden Vice President Stacy Greenstreet said. “Applehouse Gardens is in a great place, it’s really a good spot.”

The new property is located close to two very busy roads in a densely populated area, Greenstreet said.

“Alexandria is a wonderful area with great people. We are excited about this location and becoming part of the community,” said President Ray Greenstreet in a recent press release.

Applehouse Garden Center opened 39 years ago but its owner recently decided to retire, creating the perfect opportunity for expansion, reports Moynihan. This location never closed and will slowly transition into Greenstreet Gardens.

“[Applehouse] really needed a face-lift and a fresh coat of paint,” Greenstreet said. The Lothian business is not expected to change at all during the expansion period, Greenstreet added.
