Caan Floral & Greenhouses in Sheboygan, WI, recently announced that the company will take new ownership effective September 24, 2013, reports the Sheboygan Daily staff .

Kris Shepard, former president and co-owner of Alsip’s Home and Nursery based in Frankfort, IL, will take ownership of Caan’s from current owner, Tom Caan . Caan will remain an employee of the company. The company’s core employee base will also remain intact during this transition.

Highlights of Shepard’s 20-year tenure at Alsip’s include record sales, increased profits and a well-developed, loyal customer base. He has also served on the board of directors of Garden Centers of America from 2007 through 2010 and was the association’s President in 2011 and 2012.

“My family and I are excited to start the next chapter of our lives in Sheboygan,” said Shepard. “Caan Floral & Greenhouses is an exceptional garden center and I look forward to using my experience to grow this business.
