Number of First-Time Vendors Rise at 2012 NLGSSource: Kuhl Solutions

Highlights from the 2012 National Lawn & Garden Show included a rise in the number of new and first-time vendors and an expanded pet products division that attracted new lawn, garden and pet buyers to the 18th annual event.

A ‘back to basics’ business meeting was the backdrop of the 2012 National Lawn & Garden Show held last week in Frisco, Texas, the fastest growing city in the country. Highlights from the event included a rise in the number of new and first-time vendors and an expanded pet products division that attracted new lawn, garden and pet buyers to the 18th annual event.

Over 6,000 face to face appointments took place in less than three days between buyers and vendors, of the lawn, garden and pet industries, many of which were first-time participants. With the addition of the Pet Products Division in 2010, the event drew a record number of new pet product vendors as well as lawn and garden companies showcasing new products to the market.

Guaranteed pre-set, scheduled appointments match high volume buyers with quality vendors based on common product interests resulting in thousands of qualified appointments. Appointments are exclusive and open to qualified decision-making buyers and vendors. “This was my first time attending your show and I think it is a good use of time,” said Sonny Murphy, Central Garden Distribution buyer.

The 2013 NLGS event will be held at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare in Chicago Rosemont, Illinois, June 11-13, 2013. For information about next year’s event, visit www.nlgshow.com.
