Free Greenhouse Lighting Webinar This Week

On Oct. 25, GPN magazine will  present a free, one-hour webinar on “Lighting Decisions for CEA: Turning Photons into Dollars.” The webinar also will take place at 2 p.m. EDT.

The presenter is Neil Mattson from Cornell University, associate professor and greenhouse extension specialist at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Mattson is also the director of Cornell’s Controlled Environment Agriculture group

During the webinar, Mattson will address:

• Lighting requirements for common vegetable crops
• Sizing your lighting system for a given application
• Examples of upfront cost and operating cost comparing LEDs to traditional HID fixtures
• How controlling lights (time clock, light threshold, daily light integral targets) can substantially impact crop quality and cost of lighting
