Discover the standout merchandising displays from California Spring Trials, where breeders paired creativity with new plant introductions.

While new varieties take center stage at California Spring Trials, breeders’ creative displays command attention as well. Here are a few that caught our eye.

PanAmerican Seed

PanAmerican Seed brought the sunshine with its sunflower ‘Always Sunny Gold F1’.

Danziger

Danziger’s Amazonas display shows how retailers can bring the tropics to their customers’ backyards.

Benary

Benary collaborated with its new on-site partner Por La Mar Nursery in Santa Barbara, California, on some mixed containers. This one showcases both Benary’s begonia ‘Nonstop Joy Yellow’ and Por La Mar’s Dracaena warneckii ‘Lemon Lime’.

Express Seed Co.

Express Seed Co.’s strawberry display was a sweet nod to this ornamental edible, portraying it in mixes as well as in a variety of container sizes.

American Takii

American Takii took a turn with its rudbeckia ‘Claire Orange F1’ display, spiraling it around and pairing it with white petunias for an interesting contrast.

Syngenta Flowers

Syngenta Flowers set up a sweet flower shop display to promote its cut flower varieties.

Pacific Plug & Liner

Pacific Plug & Liner grouped its summer bloomers in one stunning spot.

Ball FloraPlant

A citrus stand promoted Ball FloraPlant’s CitraNova series of petchoa.

Hilverda Florist

A selfie station celebrated the new dianthus series Picture Perfect from HilverdaFlorist.

Light Bio

A retail-ready display housed pots and flats of the petunia Firefly series’ OG and two new additions.

Like a ripening berry, PanAmerican Seed’s vinca ‘Tattoo Boysenberry’ has purple-red ombre flowers almost suitable for berry preserves.

Por La Mar Nursery

Por La Mar Nursery showed its tropicals can take the heat in a display worthy of their Santa Barbara location.

Sakata

Supercal petunias fit Sakata’s “Welcome Home”-themed CAST display, with the vibrant blooms decking out a porch swing.

Schoneveld Breeding

Schoneveld Breeding brought the love with a lips-shaped couch to promote its new cyclamen ‘Sweet Lips’ as an early plant for Valentine’s Day sales.

Syngenta

One of many around-the-world vignettes to show how flowers connect us all, a Germany-themed display showed off Syngenta Flowers’ geranium assortment.

ThinkPlants

ThinkPlants set up a landscape display of its new varieties for 2027.
