Highlights from Cultivate’26
By all accounts, Cultivate’26 was a success. The show floor was buzzing with activity and excitement, sessions were well attended — and in some cases standing-room only — and the retail tour brought attendees to four inspiring and innovative retail locations.
Here are some highlights from the event.
Retail Tour
The retail tour highlighted four distinct retailers: Sheiyah Market, Petitti Garden Center—Bath Township, Bremec Garden Centers and Petitti Garden Center—Avon. Each one had notable attributes — Petitti’s beautiful new Bath Township location opened last spring, making it the newest location on the tour, while Bremec wowed attendees with northeast Ohio’s largest assortment of fountains, statuary, pottery and stone.

More to come in the September/August issue of L&GR!
Products
At the show, the Garden Center Group honored 15 new products from 13 exhibiting companies with its Retailers’ Choice Awards. Garden retailer representatives searched the show floor new products and plants they believed would generate customer interest in the coming season. Read about the winners here.
In addition to the winners, a few products caught our eye on the show floor:
The Dramm Corp.
The Dramm Corp. showed its retail Water Breaker Nozzle Rain Wands with new protective bumpers. The reinforced bumper provides added protection for the nozzle by helping absorb impact and distribute force from everyday drops and drags that often happen both in the greenhouse and at home.
Griffin
Griffin displayed Biota Nutri, a new line of organic plant-based fertilizers being introduced in the U.S. Developed and produced in the Netherlands, the fertilizers are derived from residual plant material generated during industrial vegetable processing.
True Organic
True Organic exhibited its organic plant foods and soils. Its plant food is blended from natural and organic farm-grade ingredients used by organic commercial growers, and now is available to home gardeners via its retail fertilizers and newly launched organic soil blends.
Innovator of the Year Awards
The highlight for us was the fourth annual Innovator of the Year Awards ceremony, where we recognized the 10 leading garden retailers that are going above and beyond in inventive ways. From housing a poinsettia trials on-site to partnering with their communities in resourceful ways, these stores are leading the way for what’s next in garden retail. Our thanks to Dramm for their continuing sponsorship of the award!
