Farwest to host Automation Summit during 2026 show
Farwest will host an Automation Summit on Aug. 26 to bring together growers and technology companies to discuss the role of automation in nursery production and operations.
The free session is open to all registered Farwest attendees and will feature a panel discussion covering automation in propagation, production, shipping and logistics. Panelists will share practical experiences with adopting technology and discuss opportunities and challenges facing the nursery industry.
Scheduled speakers include Chris Thiesen of Burro, Asa DeForest of HarvestWise Drones, Di Hu of Moss Robotics, Tom Fessler of Woodburn Nursery & Azaleas and Todd Nelson of Bountiful Farms.
According to event organizers, discussion topics will include improving operational efficiency, addressing labor challenges, increasing product consistency, reducing operating costs and preparing the workforce for future production needs.
