From unique statuary to outdoor offices, there is plenty of variety and some common themes to be seen at the Chelsea Flower Show this week.

Water Features: Circular pools of dark water are used to contrast with the bright oranges and blues or surrounding plants.

Wildflowers: Used to soften landscapes, wildflowers were mixed with plants more border friendly.

Shaped Trees: Trees with a natural spreading habit have been tamed by clipping, by raising the canopy to reveal several clean stems per plant, but the top of the canopy is also clipped horizontally so that they appear to float above the softly swaying planting below, writes trendwatcher Julie Hollobone.

Sculptures For Every Taste: Even sculptures dressed in bold colors like red can be softened with bright red heads of peony or sharply contrasted with a lush green foliage.

Garden Office: The Chelsea Flower Show showed outdoor structures with Photovoltaic roof panels to provide enough electricity to power a laptop and other office equipment.
