The Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) will introduce Career Boulevard at the 2026 Farwest Show, scheduled for Aug. 26-28 in Portland, Oregon

2026 Farwest Show announces Career Boulevard detals

The 2026 Farwest Show has announced details of its small group and one-to-one career development sessions at Career Boulevard during the Aug. 26-28 event at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Career Boulevard is designed for prospective and current students, recent graduates, career changers and others exploring green industry opportunities. Resources will include educators, industry experts, internships, scholarship information, job boards, networking and a NexGen social.

Participating organizations will include Chemeketa Community College, Clackamas Community College, Oregon State University, the Oregon Department of Agriculture, the Oregon Department of Forestry, Portland Community College Landscape Program and Seed Your Future.

The following sessions will be available to registered Farwest Show attendees:

  • How I Got My Start, Aug. 26: Industry professionals will share 10-minute stories about how they entered horticulture and developed their careers.
  • Mentor Match, Aug. 27: Attendees will rotate among nursery and greenhouse industry professionals in 10-minute sessions to discuss topics including leadership, innovation, nursery management and career development.
  • Internship Spotlights, Aug. 27: Organizations will provide information about their internship programs, application processes and what they seek in applicants.
  • Resume & Career Reviews, Aug. 26 and 27: Hiring professionals will provide individual feedback on resumes, interview preparation and LinkedIn profiles.
  • Financial Aid & Scholarship Applications, Aug. 26 and 27: Attendees can receive one-to-one guidance on financial aid and scholarship applications and eligibility questions.

“We will prove it with small group and one-to-one mentoring opportunities that address all aspects of building a career in the green industry,” said Jeff Stone, executive director of the Oregon Association of Nurseries, which produces the show.
