Plantpeddler Variety Day set for Aug. 7
Plantpeddler will host its annual Variety Day on Friday, Aug. 7, at its young plant facility and trial gardens in Cresco, Iowa, featuring more than 1,500 plant varieties, educational presentations and greenhouse tours for horticulture industry professionals.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include container, basket and landscape bed displays showcasing more than 1,500 plant varieties. Breeder representatives will be available throughout the day to discuss the trial entries.
Educational presentations will run concurrently on the main stage. This year’s keynote speaker is Raymond Cloyd, Ph.D., of Kansas State University. Attendees also can visit a trade show featuring event sponsors and tour Plantpeddler’s greenhouse facilities. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The evening before, on Thursday, Aug. 6, Plantpeddler and the Gooder family will host the Feast at the Farm gathering beginning at 6 p.m. at Stone Creek Farm. The event includes barbecue, music and networking opportunities. Shuttle service will be available between area hotels and the venue.
